discover the process

Why do I love developmental editing? Because taking a raw, unhinged draft and transforming it into a gleaming, battle-ready narrative is my kind of magic. I want to drag those plot holes into the daylight and interrogate them like we're at a black site. I want to poke your characters with a stick until they react like real people and not cardboard cutouts with tragic backstories and no motivation. I want pacing that doesn’t sprint, nap, then faceplant—but moves like a beast on the hunt. My brain consumes stories like visions, frame by frame, and I will notice if something’s off. It's a gift. It's a curse. It's also why I read multiple books at a time.

And listen—nothing wounds my soul like a one-star review that could’ve been prevented with a single “hey, the villain has an awfully long monologue and should've died mid second paragraph.” If there's a fixable flaw lingering in the shadows, I’ll find it and snuff it out like a candle in a haunted crypt. I don’t edit to tear things down—I edit because your story deserves to howl at the moon, not whimper in obscurity. Let’s make sure your book hits the page with teeth bared and no regrets.

why developmental editing

When I’m not casting arcane edits with my quill of correction, I’m sipping mermaid-steeped chai beneath sunlit windows, wrangling my mischievous goblins-in-training, or slipping through hidden doorways into Ghibli realms where the wind speaks in riddles.

My days are stitched together with book-bound quests, beast-taming (two noble hounds, large of heart and paw), alchemical kitchen experiments, and quiet enchantments shared with my fellow wanderer through this tangled, wondrous life.

I didn’t earn my editing skills in ivy-covered towers or scroll-laden lecture halls. Instead, I honed them in the wild—where stories run feral and typos lurk like demons in the margins. My mind reads prose like prophecy, scenes unfolding in vivid detail, and it rarely misses a thread left dangling. I’m not a gilded, gown-wearing editor from the High Court of Academia—my work is for the brave self-publishers, the indie adventurers charting their own paths. I offer clarity, care, and keen-eyed consistency. And while I can help prepare a manuscript for the gates of traditional publishing, I won’t pretend to be a courtier there.

Greetings from the wild, I'm glad we found each other- I'm Victoria

My mission is simple: to help new and upcoming authors polish their stories until they shine—regardless of how much gold is in the coin purse. Every epic begins somewhere, and I believe first books should be something you look back on with pride, not a wince. Whether you're writing sword-swinging heroines, morally flexible love interests, or magical catastrophes waiting to happen, your story deserves the same thoughtful care as a bestseller.

I started this journey after hearing too many indie authors whisper the same thing: “I just can’t afford an editor.” So I picked up my red pen, climbed the beanstalk of uncertainty, and built something different. I offer pro bono support for first-time fiction writers, flexible pricing for the rest, and I’m more than happy to barter (pastries, shiny objects, Ghibli merch—you name it). No gatekeeping here—the drawbridge is lowered, just one cozy tower where stories are welcome to grow, chaos and all.

Because at the end of the day, I’m not just here to fix plot holes—I’m here to walk beside you as your story becomes something you're genuinely proud to share. Whether you’re juggling six love interests with questionable motives or fine-tuning a fantasy epic that got tangled in its own timeline, I bring encouragement, clarity, and edits that respect your voice. I’m not here to take over—I’m here to help your magic shine.
